You’ve heard of personal hygiene but what about energy hygiene? If you’re anything like me— a woman holding space for kids, clients, friends, fur babies, a marriage, and your own wild and beautiful life, you know what it feels like to carry more than just your own to-dos. We pick up people’s moods, expectations, tension, and sometimes even their anxiety. It’s like our nervous systems are sponges disguised as skin.

That’s where energy hygiene comes in. And once you understand it, you’ll never want to live without it.
So, what is Energy Hygiene? It's the intentional practice of keeping your emotional, mental, and spiritual space clean — the same way you keep your physical body clean. It’s about:
Releasing what isn’t yours
Resetting your nervous system
Protecting your own vibe
Re-aligning with the energy you want to live in
Think of it like showering — but for your soul. Why women need this? Because we feel everything. We track the room. We absorb. We hold. And then we wonder why we’re tired, irritable, overwhelmed, or disconnected from our feminine magic. Yeah girl, you're not alone.
Energy hygiene keeps you:
Clear
Grounded
Sovereign
Soft
Magnetic
What a game changer to ground yourself back in your body instead of living in everyone else’s emotions🎤
And good news — this does not require a bougie retreat in The Maldives (but, I'll totally go if you go🤭).
Here are simple, powerful ways to cleanse your energy anytime:
1. Salt Shower or Bath. When the water drips down your body, say, “I release anything that isn’t mine.”
2. Breath-work (one of my favs, easy to follow on youtube- Nadi Shodhana). Your breath resets your whole nervous system. Slow inhale… longer exhale. Repeat until you feel your shoulders drop down from your ears.
3. Shake It Out! Yep. Like a wet dog. A 30-second somatic shake releases stored tension instantly.
4. Visualization. Ever feel like a you're shouldering a wet, heavy blanket? Imagine wringing it out. Bonus: Bring movement to the visual and twist your body free with your eyes closed. Bliss.
5. Sage or Palo Santo. If the practice isn't a fit, the intention alone is plenty.
6. Journaling Brain Dump. Put the mental clutter on paper so it stops swirling in your body.
7. Barefoot on the Earth. Grounding reconnects you to your natural calm.
8. Call Your Energy Back. A simple intention: “All of me returns to me now.”
9. Cut the Energetic Cord. Unplug every cord from your power strip so you stop draining and start recharging.
Experiment with any/all of these and boom — you’re lighter, clearer, and way more you.
My Favorite Part: Choosing your energy once you’ve cleared your space. Ask yourself: “What frequency do I want to live in today?”
